Michelle, Hi. As a curiosity, have you tried to ask the Apache/Httpd mailing list? I was wondering if they might be able to shed light on this issue.. I'm also assuming the usual google searches turned up nothing helpful... -bruce -----Original Message----- From: fedora-list-bounces@xxxxxxxxxx [mailto:fedora-list-bounces@xxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Michelle Schuknecht Sent: Thursday, May 18, 2006 2:30 PM To: For users of Fedora Core releases Subject: Re: Apache startup problem On May 18, 2006, at 12:27 PM, Paul Howarth wrote: > On Thu, 2006-05-18 at 11:51 -0700, Michelle Schuknecht wrote: >> >> On May 18, 2006, at 12:35 AM, Paul Howarth wrote: >> >>> On Wed, 2006-05-17 at 14:39 -0700, Michelle Schuknecht wrote: >>>> Hello, >>>> I am having a problem starting apache upon boot on FC4. I am using a different script in init.d then what was supplied so that apache will start automatically with ssl enabled. I fixed the script I am using so that chkconfig now works. I turned httpd off and on with chkconfig. I'm still having the same issue. Upon boot httpd is running, but I get a bad gateway message. Once I stop and start the httpd script in init.d, everything works o.k. If there is a problem with the script I am using in init.d, wouldn't I also have problems when trying to run it manually? I'm not sure what else could be causing this behavior. I have saved the original init.d/ httpd script. Is there an easier way to make sure apache starts up with ssl enabled? > > Does your SSL certificate require a passphrase?
