the sun that affects remote connection as well but not necessarily related to ssh.

I committed a sin. I want to test FC5 and installed it on a remote
server (I was local at the time), tested it and then departed. Not I
can not log onto the server using ssh or vnc.
Using vnc, I get past the vnc password but the screensaver password
(ther user password) simply hangs. With ssh, after a long wait I do get
the password prompt, but no response to the password.
[xxxxx@svr2 ~]$ ssh 192.168.15.39
xxxxx@xxxxxxxxxxxxx's password:
Connection closed by 192.168.15.39
I had a local guy reboot the server and everything worked, allowed me
run yum -y update. After a few hours, I could not log in again.
This is a x86_64 system with dual opterons. Been running for over a
year with RHEL.
Any ideas what the problem is before I call and have it rebooted again?
