You can convert to postscript with
pdftops or pdf2ps
and use inkscape to import a ps.
Inkscape is a nice vector drawing tool.
If you don't see certain import formats (like postscript)
you may need to install additional software.
See ~/.inkscape/extension-errors.log for details.
It's all available from the yum repositories.

Another "editor" is flpsed.  It doesn't really edit,
but it allows you to write text on top of ps/pdf files.
