After reading the bug report, I am a little confused as to whether the cron.daily version should be run to correct the time information or if anacron should be stopped from running as a service.

Does the reported version not run because it is disallowed by the lock file? Why prevent the daily version from running?

Should we stop the service or stop the daily run?

Q: I like to dynamically load buggy drivers into the kernel because that is
what kernel developers like me do for fun, how can I better avoid data
corruption when doing this and using ReiserFS?

A: Do sync before insmod. (Alan Cox's good suggestion.)
