What do those pppd errors say?

        T.

I am disabling selinux at boot, I don't know if that is part of the
problem or not?

These are what I get when trying to start manually after a failed connection.

May  9 07:52:59 localhost pppd[2703]: pppd 2.4.3 started by root, uid 0
May  9 07:52:59 localhost pppd[2703]: Using interface ppp0
May  9 07:52:59 localhost pppd[2703]: Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/pts/2
May  9 07:53:30 localhost pppd[2703]: LCP: timeout sending Config-Requests
May  9 07:53:30 localhost pppd[2703]: Connection terminated.
May  9 07:53:30 localhost pppd[2703]: Using interface ppp0
May  9 07:53:30 localhost pppd[2703]: Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/pts/3
May 9 07:53:34 localhost pppoe[2704]: Timeout waiting for PADO packets
May 9 07:53:35 localhost pppd[2703]: tcflush failed: Bad file descriptor
May  9 07:53:35 localhost pppd[2703]: Exit.
May  9 07:53:35 localhost adsl-connect: ADSL connection lost;
attempting re-connection.

And these aer from the message log file after a boot that did not
connect.  It's the same errors:
