MSDOS/FAt32 filesystem

I discovered that while a MSDOS/FAt32 filesystem can be mounted andaccessed as nature intended, the file names are modified. This doesnot create a problem (they are correct when accessed from Windoze)unless the files are restored from a backup created under FC. Doesanyone know of a workaround for this problem?
