Hi

Recently, I have update my FC4 and
kernel-2.6.16-1.2069_FC4.i686 was installed, but I
can't boot my FC4 now, when it start, after loading
hardware network audio mi PC don't do anything else.

Any idea of what is happend? The new kernel uninstall
all other kernels existing before.

On two of my machines, the initrd does not get made; one fails with:
No dep file found for kernel 2.6.16-1.2096_FC5

even when I run

$ sudo mkinitrd -v /boot/initrd.img-2.6.16-1.2096_FC5 \
2.6.16-1.2096_FC5

while on the other machine, rpm stays for a very long time without
producing an initrd file:
$ sudo rpm -ihv kernel-smp-2.6.16-1.2096_FC5.i686.rpm
Preparing...                ########################################### [100%]
  1:kernel-smp             ########################################### [100%]

No prompt appears again until I interrupt.

I don't understand why that is, and it is a problem for me.

I imagine that something similar is happening to you, yordy.

Any suggestions, anyone?
