Some new LCD monitors tend to forgo a dedicated OSD (on screen display)
based monitor calibration and control system and replace it with a
Windows only USB based application.
In such a case, you won't be able to calibrate and/or configure your
screen from Linux.

As long as the intended LCD display includes an OSD, you are safe.
