The problems you are seeing here are one of the reasons that the release notes specifically advise against installing the Sun Java RPM. Moreover, Sun's Java licensing prevents anyone else from distributing better-packaged binary RPMs. So, your best option, albeit somewhat of a hassle, is to build your own java RPMs the jpackage way.
