USB thumb drive questio

Hi folks,

FC5_64

After plugin the USB thumb drive (USB flash stick), its LED light glows
a while then turning off.  The drive seems locked.  However /etc/fstab
does not have its entry.  Neither "mount /dev/sdb /mnt" can mount it
(/dev/sda is for SATA II drive).

Please advise where to find it.  TIA
