graft points acting funny with mkisofs

I've been trying to use graft points under mkisofs 2.01 (i686-pc-linux-gnu) and they don't seem
to work propery. If I give the command:

mkisofs -v -o /home/tmp/test.iso -r -J -graft-points file_dir/=/home/fkliron/tmp /home/fkliron/tmp

here's what I get:

mount /home/tmp/test.iso /mnt/tmp -o loop ; ls /mnt/tmp

-r--r--r--  1 root root    0 Apr 20 12:23 file1
-r--r--r--  1 root root    0 Apr 20 12:23 file2
-r--r--r--  1 root root    0 Apr 20 12:23 file3
dr-xr-xr-x  2 root root 2048 Apr 20 12:24 file_dir

which should not be the case, all files should be under tmp. Is there something I am missing?
