FC4: Freeze during boot after 2069 Kernel Update

Hi list, 

after updating a fc4 machine with kernel-2.6.16-1.2069_FC4 the system
freeze after "Initializing hardware..." during boot. No error message,
no logs. boot.log und messages shows no entries for 2.6.16. 

With kernel-2.6.15-1.1833_FC4 all runs fine. 

Any hints?
