useful. He says that your /boot partition must be on your first hard
drive (/dev/hda). I seem to recall that that is not true.

Can you boot your install media into rescue mode: linux rescue ?
If so, fdisk -l is useful.
Also, if your BIOS allows it, set disk 2 as the boot device to get
booted on FC5, and we can help from there...
