IIRC on FC3 when the bootloader 'grub" popup at start;

- press "e"
- highlight the line which needed to change and press "e" again
- at the end of the line type "init 3" and press [Enter]
- then on next page press "b"

It did not work on FC5_64.  I tried "init3" without a space.  It also
failed.
