Hi,

I am trying to install FC5 using the NFS install option after booting from the boot.iso CD. I have used ftp to mirror the Fedora 5 tree. I have used this method for previous Fedora Core and redHat systems for many years.

When trying to install FC5 I get an error poped up "That directory does not seem to contain a Fedora Core Installation Tree".
In the debug virtual terminal there are messages saying
"can access /mnt/source/Fedora/base/stage2.img"
then
"failed to mount loop: Invalid argument"

There is info in virtual terminal 4:

Unable to identify CDROM format
VFS: Can't find an ext2 filesystem on loop0
cramfs: wrong magic
FAT: bogus number of FAT structure
VFS: Can't find a valid FAT filesystem on loop0

Any ideas ?

Terry

Hi,

Ignore the previous message, I was somehow using the boot.iso from
Fedora Core 4 ....
