I assume this java is in the path?
rpm -q -f /usr/bin/java

gij (GNU libgcj) version 4.0.2 20051125 (Red Hat 4.0.2-8)

When I enter
/usr/opt/jdk_1.5.0_02/bin /java -version
java version "1.5.0_02"
How can I uninstall version 1.4.2?
Thank you,
Jim

Go to System Settings -> Add/ Remove Applications-> Developemnt Tools
remove the package gcc-java compiler.
