'yum provides /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.5'
  or
'yum resolvedep /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.5'

will tell you what you need to install (see the man page for
distinctions).

Keep in mind 'yum localinstall' when installing .rpm files not in a yum
repository.
