I'm not sure if this is the kosher method,
but what I did was to burn boot.iso on the first CD to another CD.
[Basically, I said "mount -o loop FC-5...disk1.iso /mnt"
which "disentangles" the ISO on /mnt ,
copied /mnt/images/boot.iso to my directory,
and burned it to a CD.]

I've found that this CD - with very little data -
works in all my machines, two of which had trouble with the full CDs.
I put it in, and answer "linux askmethod" to the boot prompt.
