FC5 Lame Segmentation Fault & FC4 Lock Up

Has anyone else seen an issue where the lame mp3 encoder crashes with a
Seg Fault in FC5? Actually, lame crashes as does any other encoder that
uses it's libraries (i.e. gogo).

I've got another strange situation on my FC4 box. It now randomly locks
up when I'm ripping CDs. It's not a soft lockup either, it's a hard
lockup where nothing responds. It's not even possible to remote into the
box from another machine. Sometimes I'll get through 10 CDs before it
locks, other times it locks on the first one. I found some strange errors
in /var/log/messages, so I disabled DMA. The errors went away, but the
machine still locks up. I've updated the CDRW firmware and I've swapped
in a different drive. It's still locking up and there's not a single
thing in the log files to help troubleshoot. I've ripped hundreds of CDs
on this box without issue, but now it's flaking out.

Any thoughts on either issue? Thoughts about whether they might be related?

Thanks,
