Are you installing via tarball or RPM? The RPM works well.

We are up to update100 now.
Also (to preempt the next question), if you run SElinux, you may also need
to (as root):
chcon -t textrel_shlib_t \
/usr/lib/vmware/lib/libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0/libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0

I am installing the rpm file. As you mentioned above, I need to install the patch to get working properly.
