Device not ready messages in syslog

On one of my FC4 machines, /var/log/messages keeps filling up with this crap:

Mar 19 04:02:30 lazarus kernel: Device not ready. Make sure there is a disc in the drive.
Mar 19 04:03:02 lazarus last message repeated 16 times
Mar 19 04:04:03 lazarus last message repeated 30 times
Mar 19 04:05:05 lazarus last message repeated 30 times
Mar 19 04:06:06 lazarus last message repeated 30 times
Mar 19 04:07:07 lazarus last message repeated 30 times

etcetera.

This machine has an IDE floppy drive, (i.e., a floppy drive on /dev/hda) which is likely the source of this message. My question is: what is trying to repeatedly accessing the IDE floppy drive, and how do I shut it up?
