I'm pretty sure fedora list has a search archive facility hosted by redhat.com 
before but I couldn't find it now. In anycase, I haven't found that to be 
useful. Most of the time I couldn't find what I was looking for. So instead I 
use :
http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/
to search for mailing lists archives.
