Sorry for top posting but i'm stuck with Lotus Notes at work...
Anyway, short of the command line is there any other gui to install/remove software from the DVD?

Nothing. Pirut uses online yum repositories by default and would fail
otherwise. There is a plan to add support for repositories in the media
(CD/DVD) in the future.
