Have a look at the dmix alsa plugin. Haven't used FC3 for a while, but
I'm pretty sure that dmix is supplied with one of the alsa packages...

You need a software mixer. Check dmix, arts (for KDE), esd (for gnome), I'm sure there are others. Or get a sound card with a hardware mixer (best solution).
