I have an audio recording and a transcription of an interview, which I
would like to post to the web. Each line (or short section) of the
transcript should link to the appropriate place in the audio, so that
clicking on "[audio]" next to a line saying (say):
[audio] JR: When did you first start to use Linux?
XX: In about 1997.
would start the audio playing in the appropriate place.
For portability and size, the best format for the audio file would seem
to be mp3, but other formats, say ogg, might be acceptable. Clearly,
this could be done with a large (**very large**) number of mp3 files,
linked and accessed via pointers from the text. But...
Is there a better way? I.e. does mp3 or ogg support anything like
anchors, so that the text file could reference these "anchors" in the
audio file?
