Broadcom makes everything difficult for Linux users since they absolutely provide no help for open source drivers. Their ethernet hardware is usable with later 2.4 and most all the 2.6 kernels but their wireless is still not incorporated into the kernel. Best to stay away from laptops with built-in Broadcom wireless. Craig
