-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 - -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, I'm using fc4 x86_64 smp on an Intel P4 HT with all recent updates installed. When I connect an usb barcode scanner, which should behave like am usb keyboard, I just permanent usb connect-disconnect messages: (atleast one per second). usb 3-2: new low speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 12 input: USB HID v1.00 Keyboard [TechScan Korea Barcode reader(v36a)] on usb-0000: 00:1d.1-2 usb 3-2: USB disconnect, address 12 usb 3-2: new low speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 13 ... The device is doing fine on the same machine with the same connection on windows (XP home) and on debian sarge (2.6.11 kernel), but not with fc4 2.6.11 kernel. This renders the device unusable within fedora and i don't know why. I'v got an ati graphics card with fglrx propertary drivers installed and serveral usb devices (e.g. logitch usb mouse+keyboard) successfully connected. Additionall, i've got "usb-handoff=1" enabled at boot commandline to let my ps/2 keyboard coexist with the usb one. When googling for the problem and nearly found nothing but that in 2.6.11-mm there should have been a regression error doing somewhat similar errors. (http://lkml.org/lkml/2005/8/20/102) There it's says that the disconnect message should not be seen, but that's common to me for all usb devices I can unplug. As its said there that the important things are to debug what's happing just bevor the disconnect happens, i reloaded uhci_hcd with debug=1..10 and I got the following additional messages: usb 3-2: USB disconnect, address 16 usb 3-2: new low speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 17 input: USB HID v1.00 Keyboard [TechScan Korea Barcode reader(v36a)] on usb-0000:00:1d.1-2 [ffff81001ba8d400] link (1ba8d242) element (19706240) Element != First TD 0: [ffff8100197061e0] link (19706240) e3 LS Length=7 MaxLen=7 DT0 EndPt=0 Dev=11, PID=2d(SETUP) (buf=336dc5e0) 1: [ffff810019706240] link (197062a0) e0 SPD LS Stalled CRC/Timeo Length=7ff MaxLen=7 DT1 EndPt=0 Dev=11, PID=69(IN) (buf=3b5f68c0) 2: [ffff8100197062a0] link (19706300) e3 SPD LS Active Length=0 MaxLen=7 DT0 EndPt=0 Dev=11, PID=69(IN) (buf=3b5f68c8) 3: [ffff810019706300] link (19706360) e3 SPD LS Active Length=0 MaxLen=7 DT1 EndPt=0 Dev=11, PID=69(IN) (buf=3b5f68d0) 4: [ffff810019706360] link (197063c0) e3 SPD LS Active Length=0 MaxLen=7 DT0 EndPt=0 Dev=11, PID=69(IN) (buf=3b5f68d8) 5: [ffff8100197063c0] link (19706420) e3 SPD LS Active Length=0 MaxLen=7 DT1 EndPt=0 Dev=11, PID=69(IN) (buf=3b5f68e0) 6: [ffff810019706420] link (19706480) e3 SPD LS Active Length=0 MaxLen=7 DT0 EndPt=0 Dev=11, PID=69(IN) (buf=3b5f68e8) 7: [ffff810019706480] link (197064e0) e3 SPD LS Active Length=0 MaxLen=7 DT1 EndPt=0 Dev=11, PID=69(IN) (buf=3b5f68f0) 8: [ffff8100197064e0] link (197065a0) e3 SPD LS Active Length=0 MaxLen=7 DT0 EndPt=0 Dev=11, PID=69(IN) (buf=3b5f68f8) 9: [ffff8100197065a0] link (19706600) e3 SPD LS Active Length=0 MaxLen=7 DT1 EndPt=0 Dev=11, PID=69(IN) (buf=3b5f6900) 10: [ffff810019706600] link (19706660) e3 SPD LS Active Length=0 MaxLen=7 DT0 EndPt=0 Dev=11, PID=69(IN) (buf=3b5f6908) [skipped 22 active TD's] 33: [ffff810019706ea0] link (00000001) e3 LS IOC Active Length=0 MaxLen=7ff DT1 EndPt=0 Dev=11, PID=e1(OUT) (buf=00000000) [ffff81001ba8d340] link (1ba8d242) element (197060c0) 0: [ffff8100197060c0] link (19706120) e0 LS Stalled CRC/Timeo Length=7 MaxLen=7 DT0 EndPt=0 Dev=11, PID=2d(SETUP) (buf=336dc5e0) 1: [ffff810019706120] link (19706540) e3 SPD LS Active Length=0 MaxLen=1 DT1 EndPt=0 Dev=11, PID=69(IN) (buf=3b5f68c0) 2: [ffff810019706540] link (00000001) e3 LS IOC Active Length=0 MaxLen=7ff DT1 EndPt=0 Dev=11, PID=e1(OUT) (buf=00000000) usb 3-2: USB disconnect, address 17 Do you have any idea what's happening here? thanks a lot in advance, sincerly, mbraun - -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.2 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Fedora - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFD2Rsjja4h02Y9mlcRAkvXAJwIP6KOEaBy0ZWOS1mbWz0G0OzkNwCeM1KP RxlEemT481xgrKGE29HB0QY= =D8wu - -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.2 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Fedora - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFD2kGKja4h02Y9mlcRAveVAJ9chKE8V5CvUY6yidqUEm3yFxAVIwCfV6TJ Mw8ghQhACJnGGfZvJ/wp+XI= =iXtA -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
