is it possible to change the fonts used by Thunderbird, and if yes, how

Edit/Preferences
Display[Fonts]->Fonts
Change those for 'Western' and 'Other'[Unicode].
These *used* to affect the widget fonts as well as the normal display
panes, not sure if you need to use the other gnome-font-properties hint in
tandem with this (or even if that'll do anything in TB; I've never used that
before).
