I'm having a problem with using a USB mouse on my HP ZV5255 laptop. The mouse works fine if I boot a 2.6.13* kernel but all 2.6.14* it does not work most of the time. When I look for USB devices in kinfocenter or hardware brouser the app locks up. Help!

Sounds like a dodgy mouse: any chance you can try it elsewhere?

Can you, from a command prompt, try /sbin/lsusb (you don't have to be
root)?

Can you, from a *root* command prompt, run
tail -f /var/log/messages
and plug the mouse in?

Hope this helps,

This is not a hardware problem! The mouse works fine using any kernel that is not 2.6.14* it also works fine with XP.
I tried /sbin/lsusb with kernel 2.6.14-1.1656_FC4 it locked up the terminal window I got no responce from tail -f /var/log/messages when I pluged in the mouse.
