You might want to try booting off the rescue CD, and running fsck.reiserfs on the partition, just to make sure that it isn't in a weird state. I have had funny things like that happen myself, where it would just start gobbling space up, and I fixed it by repairing the filesystem. YMMV. Cheers! Steve
