Hi, i tried to use system-config-users for managing the user database, but got an error message like: "The user database cannot be read. This problem is most likely caused by a mismatch in /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow. The program will exit now." Comparing /etc/shadow with /etc/passwd gave no results (line # identical, user names identical). Removing /etc/shadow, and then using pwconv did _not_ solve my problem. useradd and groupadd are working well. Any help appreciated. -- Best regards / Mit freundlichen Gruessen Joachim Backes <joachim.backes@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> University of Kaiserslautern,Computer Center [RHRK], Systems and Operations group, High performance computing and LINUX cluster management.
