For future reference, there's a great script on
http://www.fedoranews.org/mediawiki/index.php/Setting_up_YUM_for_FC4.
which sets up many/select yum repositories in your yum.conf files for
you. (it also enables/disables repositories when you run it, so it's
very easy to manage your yum conf file!) PS. if the above link doesn't, then go to fedoranews.org/mediawiki and search for "set up yum" and you'll find it! -Mick Michael D. Perhaps the server was down or your DNS server was screwed up. In any case I was able to display the file when I double-clicked the link. Why not try yum again? Thanks for the clue. Following it, I found the problem in the nic config: default gateway address was wrong. Odd that I could talk inside my Linksys firewall, but not outside. I would have expected both fail with this error. Yum is fine now. Mike -- Michael D. Berger m.d.berger@xxxxxxxx |
