Have you rebooted since doing the yum update?  That kernel is the
default for a new FC4 install.

A kernel update shows with the uname command after the machine is
rebooted and the new kernel is in use.

Switching to the i686 kernel (and not the smp) may require you to do the
yum update again to get the latest release of the standard kernel.

Those packages are likely not required.
yum remove cman-kernel GFS-kernel gndb-kernel dlm-kernel
should take care of that issue unless you are certain they are needed.
