There was a post on here a few days ago (and I've searched the archives
for it and can't find it about the steps needed to convert a tarball to
an RPM (or SRPM). Can someone point me to the archive or get me moving
in the right direction?
The detailed way:
http://fedora.redhat.com/participate/developers-guide/ch-rpm-building.html
http://www.rpm.org/RPM-HOWTO/build.html
Tarballs are source packages, .rpm are binary ones.
You need to compile then.
I know the detailed way, but the notes I saw were a little more distilled.
