That's all it took. I also agree - I don't see why this is taking so long to test as a part of fedora-updates, unless they are trying to modify or disable sections of code (installing extensions or disabling the update tool perhaps?) to better fit with FC4 specs. Or perhaps resources are just fully dedicated to FC5 efforts right now and they don't have the bandwidth. Fresh RPMs has a Firefox 1.5 RPM that seems usable. For myself, I didn't find that RPM until after I did a manual install and needed to make the change to use Firefox 1.5 to be global for all of the users on my system. So, instead of changing Desktop Preferred Applications, I did the following: 1) Unpacked the Firefox 1.5 files to /usr/lib/Firefox-1.5 2) Copied over my existing plug-ins to /usr/lib/Firefox-1.5/plugins (I created a symlink for Java) 3) Renamed /usr/bin/firefox to /usr/bin/firefox.backup 4) Created a symlink that results in /usr/bin/firefox --> /usr/lib/Firefox-1.5/firefox Voila! Just remember to put things back before upgrading any of the associated RPMs. And I agree that Firefox 1.5, in this configuration, runs *much* faster than 1.0.7...
