Hello What if I want to remove gnome but keep some of the utilities like gaim, firefox,.... anyone tried that ?
I would leave it alone. If that's not good enough, then remove gnome and whatever goes with it, then reinstall what you want.
If that pulls everything back in, there's nothing more to be done, but that might not happen.
