Dear Listmembers!
I'm using the samba on my fedora core 2 system and because this is a old
system then i sometime download the latest samba from samba.org as srpm. My
problem the next:
After i build my samba rpms, then the created rpm files size is too long
(~300 mb).
I think my gcc is build samba with the debug informations, but this not need
for me. How can i build a "normally size" samba rpms????
[root@neuron root]# ls -al /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/i386/
total 310168
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Dec 15 09:52 .
drwxr-xr-x 8 root root 4096 Dec 28 2004 ..
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 81793509 Dec 15 09:49 samba-3.0.20b-1.i386.rpm
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 103348359 Dec 15 09:50
samba-client-3.0.20b-1.i386.rpm
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 108848370 Dec 15 09:51
samba-common-3.0.20b-1.i386.rpm
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 23270637 Dec 15 09:52 samba-swat-3.0.20b-1.i386.rpm
the debug is normally an extra rpm package created, just rm it before you
rpom -Uvh
