hi all.
cant i use multiple yum processes at different konsoles ?
i mean when i do something in one konsole, cant do any search with yum in
another one at all :(
when try to use yum twice, always get the error below :

Hmm. I can see where actually doing an update or clean etc.
would require locking, but why does just asking?

In any case, I find that yum doesn't run very long anyway.

[root@localhost root]# yum search gaim
Existing lock /var/run/yum.pid: another copy is running. Aborting.
[root@localhost root]#

what can i do ?
is there a way to red rid of this error ? and use it on as many different
konsoles as we want ?

This does not appear to be an error. It appears to be a design
decision.

You have found the bank of Larn.
I can explain it for you, but I can't understand it for you.
I speak only for myself, and I am unanimous in that!
