Well. Now it is like this:
/dev/hda1 4.0G 2.5G 1.5G 63% /

But with the same result... By the way, may it can help... when I tried
to repair it, I moved the .evolution from my home dir and
then created a new the sub dirs by running evolution anew. Then I moved
the old dirs (the boxes as I have several) back under .evolution. But
without success.
Sorry, that's the extent of my expertise (such as it is); usually the
symptoms you describe are the result of a filled disk; I don't use
evolution, myself; I don't know about this new error.
