Gentlemen, ladies: I'm unable to mount my zip drive as a regular user: [ed@mybox ~]$ mount /media/zip mount: special device /dev/hdb4 does not exist If I reboot with zip disk inside the drive /dev/hdb4 gets created: [root@mybox ~]# stat /dev/hdb4 File: `/dev/hdb4' Size: 0 Blocks: 0 IO Block: 4096 block special file Device: dh/13d Inode: 42416 Links: 1 Device type: 3,44 Access: (0640/brw-r-----) Uid: ( 0/ root) Gid: ( 6/ disk) Access: 2005-11-10 22:52:34.047370144 -0800 Modify: 2005-11-10 22:52:34.047370144 -0800 Change: 2005-11-10 22:52:34.000000000 -0800 Then still doesn't let me mount as myself (regular user) I got the same message as above. Even as root: [root@mybox ~]# mount /media/zip mount: /dev/hdb4: can't read superblock [root@mybox ~]# mount /media/zip mount: special device /dev/hdb4 does not exist Even when the /dev/hdb4 HAS been created as shown above. I need to be very specific: [root@mybox ~]# mount -t vfat /dev/hdb4 /media/zip to mount it to be able to see its contents [root@mybox ~]# ls /media/zip/ bla, bla, --omitted-- What can I do to be able to mount it as a regular user? Any help will be really appreciate it. Thanks Eddie __________________________________ Yahoo! FareChase: Search multiple travel sites in one click. http://farechase.yahoo.com
