The problem with using RPMs, is that Livna doesn't necessarily follows

If a new kernel is released, and Livna fails to update their package in
a timely fashion, you're left with text-only machine.

Hi,
Just download the Linux driver from
http://www.nvidia.com/object/unix.html.
Once you have the NVIDIA_XXX.sh file, go down to init 3 (init 3 as root)
and execute the script.
After a couple of "yes", go back to init 5 (again as root). It should
work.
Personally, I'd use the ones from livna - you don't need to mess around
with dropping down to different init levels.

I prefer the livna solution as well.d I have used the nVidia source
files in the past but this is easier.
I just don't install the new kernel until the new nVidia module is
ready. What is a few days?
