What does hdparm /dec/hdX says?
Hmm. OK, looks like DMA's off on that drive! I used to have it 'forced' on in /etc/sysconfig/harddiskx but commented it out a while back as it seemed to be defaulting to on.
But now ... where on Earth are the harddisk* files used? Used to be in /etc/rc.d/rc.sysconfig [FC3] but on my FC4 now there seems to be *no* start-up hdparm being called?
