smeg replaced by alacarte, that doesn't work

Hi,

I just let yum update "smeg" with "alacarte", but found it crashes with
spurious errors because it couldn't access a directory that it should
have left alone (~/bin/).  Anybody else get the same thing?

There's nothing in that bin directory for it to use.  And when I changed
the permissions to let it, it didn't actually do anything in there.  I
changed the permissions and it doesn't crash, anymore, but there's still
a plethora of warnings:
