Probably.  The power supply is the next thing.  Disconnecting the extra
disk drives should be enough lightening of the load.  Also, if you have a
voltmeter you could measure the voltages at the motherboard connector.  The
voltages should be the same with and without the disk drives.  An
Oscilloscope would be better, to look for ripple or dropouts.
