probably user the one generated by X -configure with the mouse sections from the anaconda
and see if it works. btw ctl-alt-backspace shoudl kill X, or you can switch to a virtual terminal and kill the process by hand (ctl-alt-f1).

Hello,I tried this suggestion. The /tmp/xorg.conf... file was created and I note thatthe video card was detected and the monitor information was obtained fromthe configuration but the mouse input-device was not detectable so it failedto run the first time. I edited in the correct mouse device information andran X -config /tmp/xorg.conf... and then there was a blank (black screen)and nothing else. I could not get out of X at this point...Help?-----Original Message-----X -configure

Fill in the monitor characteristics by hand into /etc/X11/xorg.conf or
give system-config-display a try.
I did that. It still does not work. I know the Monitor vert/hort
parameters and entered it, but it still will not recognize it.
Note that I had to use the Fedora Rescue CD in order to modify
the xorg.conf by hand. I note that FC4 does not use the script:
'system-config-display' but instead uses a Python script. Will
it still work? I am trying this now... and will let you know
if it will work.
I am sad to report, that you cannot run the 'system-config-display'
because it requires that the X11 system be running. Sheesh... is
this the cart before the horse? Why in God's name did "they" change
to use Python from FC3 to FC4 so now there is no curses based-scripts
to configure the darn thing?
What do I do now?
