I've tried the latest version: 1.1.5, 1.0.7, 2.4. Same outcome: get failures on boot, but can modprobe (most of the time w/o errors), manually afterwards. If somebody could give me some feedback on where in rc.sysinit or another script to put echo 100 >, that could help. Anyway, i have 2 more thoughts about what to try next, and will keep playing w/ it.
