Well, I do understand your frustration, really, but there are a hell of
a lot of people who are *NOT* having your problem. Myself included, I've
never had these problems and I've been running this kind of distro since
Redhat 5.2.
A few things to check:
You're NOT using cable select on the device?
Have you tried turning off DMA for the DVD drive?
