Hi Ed,

I have three rack servers backuped by "APC Smart-UPS 1000VA" (SUA1000I).
Apcupsd daemon is used. Connected via serial line (it is hard to kill
serial line connection, usb is a chance, but less stable IMHO).

Apcupsd supports master-slave signalization (via ethernet) from master
server to slave (also backuped) servers.
Works great with minimal configuration after install.

You can use whole APC Smart UPS line with no problems (IMHO).
