hello all, I have just installed the FC-3 in my new intel D915GVWB motherboard. Initially I noticed that the sound card is not working. Then I upgraded the alsa package and the kernel and got the soundcard working. Now its seen that the microphone is not working properly. When I run "gnome-sound-recorder", it hangs up. I tried audacity also. still in vain. can anyone suggest any method to make my microphone work. The dmesg shows that the system uses "obsolete OSS audio interface" The details of the device is as follows: Sound card: [root@gamma ~]# cat /proc/asound/cards 0 [Intel ]: HDA-Intel - HDA Intel HDA Intel at 0x501c0000 irq 193 The output of the dmesg : ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:00:02.0[A] -> GSI 16 (level, low) -> IRQ 193 [drm] Initialized i915 1.1.0 20040405 on minor 0: mtrr: base(0x40020000) is not aligned on a size(0x300000) boundary ACPI: PCI interrupt for device 0000:00:1b.0 disabled ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:00:1b.0[A] -> GSI 16 (level, low) -> IRQ 193 PCI: Setting latency timer of device 0000:00:1b.0 to 64 application skype uses obsolete OSS audio interface application gstreamer-prope uses obsolete OSS audio interface application skype uses obsolete OSS audio interface application audacity uses obsolete OSS audio interface can anyone help? regards Manilal
