Hi,

I wonder whether we have something like this in FC4 :

I'd actually like this feature because I often mount/umount usb drives. I'm always first figuring out which drive it is mounted to and than mount it. This is very inconvenient and I guess that the lastest FC would have something more convenient but I simply don't know about it's existence.

Anyone can point me in a good direction ?

FC4 on three machines. Plug USB device in and it mounts. Icon on desktop for the drive. Right click to unmount. Cannot be any easier than that. Heck it is easier that on WinXP where I have to find the correct little icon on the task bar and hope that I just unmounted the correct drive. Fresh installs.

I even have reformatted my USB stick and HD with a volume name so they mount with that instead of USB drive or some other name that makes no sense. I put my stick in and it comes up with my name. :) Did the same for my wifes on the weekend and she is happy.

Now I have to learn how to make FC4 write to the drive instead of caching the data until it is unmounted. I toasted some data files because of this. I was in to much of a hurry when transferring ~500meg of files to a stick. Icon disappeared but the write was still going on.
